Solves floor vibration problems caused by factory equipment and machinery!

This is a case study of a solution to a floor vibration problem in a production plant. Yacmo's new AMD is significantly smaller and has a higher output. The shape can be customized to suit the installation location, so that the production space is not wasted and a comfortable working environment is realized.
issue
In recent years, as factory equipment machines have become more powerful and faster, large floor shaking caused by the machines has become a problem in many cases.
At Company A's plant, whenever the latest equipment was replaced, the floor vibration increased, and there was concern that the working environment would deteriorate. Floor vibration measurements showed that the vibration exceeded the ISO 2631/2 environmental factor of 8, which is the standard for workplaces, by more than 10 dB. Yacmo conducted further detailed analysis to determine that the particularly large vibration components around 6.3 Hz and 20 Hz were caused by the floor's eigenmodes, and to quantify the mechanical excitation force through simulation to determine the output level of the equipment and machinery.

The following two conditions had to be met for the measures to be taken
- Ability to accommodate and benefit from the high output of equipment and machinery
- Avoid wasting production pace as much as possible.
After the client and our company considered various countermeasure methods, we concluded that the best solution was to install AMD (active mass damper), a compact vibration control device that can provide a large effect.

counter-measure
In order to counteract the large excitation force of equipment and machinery, we have developed a new 600 kg type (YAMD-0600) equipped with a large-thrust actuator and customized designed to be housed in a small space on the production line. The number of units installed is one for each line of equipment, and they are placed in the center of the line.

result
AMD effect reduces vibration in primary and secondary modes. The product meets the environmental coefficient of 8 (ISO-2631), a standard for workplaces. We have succeeded in greatly improving the work environment without wasting production space.
