Tree house built on top of a large 300 year old tree - Example of tree vibration characteristics measurement

A resort facility planned a huge tree house. Before installation, the vibration characteristics of the trees were measured. Yacmo's proven technological capabilities played a role in creating a space that is at one with nature.
issue
A treehouse is a structure built on a living tree foundation. A resort facility was planning to build a tree house on top of a 300-year-old camphor tree, and in designing it, it was necessary to clarify the vibration characteristics of the tree that would serve as the foundation and reflect them in the structural design. Yacmo installed sensors on the trees and made measurements. Based on the results, a tree model was created for structural analysis, and the effects of the tree house on the trees and the effects of tree shaking on the tree house were analyzed.

counter-measure
The object of measurement was a 300-year-old camphor tree growing on the grounds of a certain resort facility.

Sensors were installed at four points that serve as house load points to measure vibration acceleration in three directions, and the following items were calculated and set
- Mode frequency (Hz): 2 patterns: constant fine motion and excitation
- Damping constant (ratio)
- Mode mass (kg)

result
The results of the measurements were as follows

Based on the measurement results, load points are modeled and incorporated into the structural design of the treehouse.
