Horizontal Vibration Simulator

Yacmo Corporation will begin offering a horizontal vibration simulator on Monday, July 1 that allows users to experience how a high-rise or pencil building shakes in high winds.
While there are many opportunities to experience vertical swaying in everyday life, such as walking vibration, horizontal swaying is rarely experienced in daily life, and we have received comments that it is difficult to explain the sensation in words.
Therefore, we have developed a device to allow people to easily experience horizontal vibration.

Reproduction of long-span steel-framed floors that are prone to swaying

A portion of the showroom is built to approximate the characteristics of long-span steel-framed floors, which are relatively prone to vibration problems.
The natural frequency is 7Hz, which people are sensitive to, and the damping is about 1%, reproducing a floor where vibration is hard to be contained.

Quantify human gait and sway

The vibration simulator reproduces a wide range of vibrations, from walking and running to fitness and longitudinal motions, vibrations of equipment and machinery, and traffic vibrations of large vehicles and trains, allowing visitors to experience the shaking of the floor that they feel inside the building.
In addition, visitors can experience vibrations in accordance with the "Habitability Evaluation Criteria (Guidelines)" of the Architectural Institute of Japan, which are used to evaluate floor shaking. By linking the vibration evaluation with your own senses, such as the degree of concern, discomfort level, V-90, V-70, etc., which are difficult to visualize with only numerical values and words, you will be able to understand more deeply.

Experiencing equipment machine vibration control with AMD vibration control equipment

The exhibit will reproduce the vibration of equipment and machinery at a factory that we have assisted with vibration control measures, allowing visitors to experience the effects of the AMD vibration control device.
How much 20 gal vibration was actually occurring, and how much would 10 dB of vibration reduction by AMD change that? You can see that the following is a good example.

Uncomfortable shaking quickly subsides! Experience the effects of ultra-thin TMD

The ultra-slim size TMD Floormate, which fits under OA floors, is on display.
By vibrating the floor with the heel, you can experience how quickly the floor shaking subsides.

We are exhibiting a miniature model of our newly developed horizontal AMD for wind sway and traffic vibration control of mid-rise buildings. Please come and see how the building's swaying quickly subsides with its superior vibration control performance.

The meeting space at the back of the showroom is a floating structure in which the suspended ceiling vibration isolation "seal hanger," the vibration isolation floating wall "round vibration isolation rubber," and the vibration isolation floating floor "YS construction method" are actually used. Part of the space is skeletonized, so please take a look at how it is used.

Compact seismic isolator for server racks

NEW Server Utena," a seismic isolator for new server racks, is on display. Please take a look at its compact size that does not protrude from the rack. You can also push it by hand to move it back and forth, left and right, to see how it works.

In environmental vibration design, the process by which the designer explains and obtains agreement from the building owner is important.
However, vibration is felt differently by different people, and some people find it bothersome even when it is generally considered not to be bothersome. In some cases, after the construction, people have trouble saying, "I didn't think the vibration would be this loud.
To prevent this from happening, please have the client experience the actual vibration and use it as an explanatory material for the target design values!
