Server Utena "SUM/SUL" series (Server racks, etc.)

SERVER UTENA

Seismic isolators are used to protect server racks from earthquakes, and are installed under server racks to protect IT information.
It has passed vibration tests using various seismic waves, including Kobe waves (Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake).
It automatically returns to near the origin after an earthquake, and can cope with frequent earthquakes after a major quake.
  Maintenance free, no running costs.

Fail-safe design

It is also possible to secure the seismic isolator and mounted equipment. This reduces the risk of tipping over in the event of an earthquake that exceeds the seismic isolation performance range. (Depending on installation conditions, anchoring of the seismic isolators or use of the optional anti-tipping plate is recommended.)

Can be installed on intermediate floors

The high-performance model [SUL] can be installed on intermediate floors, which have been difficult to install in the past due to stroke problems.

Return-to-home system to cope with frequent earthquakes after a major quake.

Because of the circular arc rail, the seismic isolator returns to its point of origin by gravity when the seismic shaking ceases. Therefore, the performance remains unchanged even in frequent earthquakes after a major quake.

Seismic isolators in a state that is far from their original point of origin will not perform as well as they should in the next earthquake, increasing the risk of tipping over or damaging the mounted equipment.

Earthquakes were reproduced by the 3D vibration test system "DUAL FORCE" (NTT Facilities, Inc.).

Structure and Specifications

  • The upper and lower rails allow for a larger amount of displacement despite its compact size.
  • The friction type damper (friction roller damper) changes the amount of damping in accordance with the loaded load. In addition, the use of arc rails ensures stable seismic isolation performance regardless of the loaded load.
  • The upper plate and rails do not separate.

*1 FRD: Abbreviation for friction roller damper. Damping force is generated by friction.
