AMD (active mass damper) for vertical vibration (live studios, theaters, etc.)
ACTIVE MASS DAMPER
This device absorbs and suppresses vertical vibrations of an object by sensing vertical vibrations of the object with an attached acceleration sensor and tuning a vibration mass (weight) to the vibrations. It is mainly used to reduce vertical environmental vibrations such as walking vibrations and mechanical vibrations on the floor of a building. AMD for horizontal vibrationthis way (direction close to the speaker or towards the speaker)
AMD for vertical vibration
It consists of an actuator, vibration mass, coil spring, frame, control panel, and acceleration sensor.
Vibration of the vibration control target (floor, etc.) is monitored by acceleration sensors, control calculations are performed in real time to reduce the vibration, and the actuator drives the vibration mass.
The program is also tuned to match the characteristics of the measured floor and other items.

Introduction to AMD Series
This page introduces the features and installation examples of AMDs, which solve various vibration problems with power in a space-saving manner. We summarize the key points of AMD, which can deal with a wide range of unpleasant vibrations such as walking vibration, equipment-machine vibration, and vertical vibration at live performances, etc.

Vibration control for existing buildings "after the fact
Increasingly, vibration problems are occurring later due to layout changes, changes in use, and new installation of equipment and machinery. However, the usual vibration control measures would require large-scale construction work. This section introduces the features and installation examples of Yacmo's vibration control system, which enables "after-the-fact" vibration control measures for existing buildings.

Countermeasure Points and Examples of Improvements for Vibration Problems Caused by Production Equipment Machinery
Production equipment and machinery have large excitation forces, and vibration problems often occur with new installations, layout changes, and line expansions. This section provides easy-to-understand explanations of what vibration countermeasures are available for production equipment and machinery, points to keep in mind when implementing countermeasures, and examples of actual improvements.

Points to consider in advance of floor sway countermeasures and examples of countermeasures
In many cases, vibration caused by walking and fitness, traffic, and production equipment and machinery becomes a problem after building construction is completed and requires countermeasures. This document describes floor sway and vibration control measures, and explains the points to consider in advance and the flow of countermeasures against floor sway. In addition, examples of actual floor shaking diagnosis and improvement effects using the AMD vibration control system are also introduced.

Would you like to diagnose & improve that floor shaking problem with Yacmo's AMD?
The causes of floor sway and the basics of effective vibration control as a countermeasure are explained, and several examples of improvements made by AMD are presented.
Simple Selection Method for Wind Vibration Damping Devices (AMD, TMD)
Among the vibration control devices widely known as wind and microvibration countermeasures for habitability of building structures, this section explains how to determine simple specifications for passive-type TMDs and active-type AMDs.
