Floor mate (ultra-thin vibration damping device)
FLOOR MATE
This device reduces shaking of floors, stairs, and corridors caused by walking, external traffic vibration, etc.
The ultra-thin size fits under OA floors and is easy to install, so vibration countermeasures can be taken even after the building has been occupied.

You can see the effect of floor mates.
Two water tanks, one on the left and one on the right, shown in the video, are vibrated in the same way by a vibration exciter.
The water in the one without the Floormate is shaking, but the one with the Floormate is hardly shaking at all. By tuning to the natural frequency of the stand on which the aquarium is placed, you can see that the Floor Mate is absorbing the vibration.
To make it ultra-thin, Floormate uses a cantilevered structure.
The mass is held in place by a coil spring and vibrates up and down at the fulcrum to absorb vibrations from slabs and other objects.
By moving the adjustment mass, the frequency can be easily tuned.
Install Floormate for the number of units that will have a mass ratio of approximately 3-5% to the vibration target, such as a slab or stairway.
By tuning the vibration frequency of the Floormate to that of the target structure, the Floormate resonates and absorbs the vibration energy of the target structure, thereby reducing vibration.

The ultra-thin vibration-damping device (TMD) "Floor Mate", which can reduce vibration by simply placing it under OA floors and other narrow spaces, is on display in the showroom in the basement of the Tokyo office, so visitors can experience its vibration-reducing effects for themselves.

Introduction of TMD Series
This page explains the "features, principles, structure, installation examples, effects, etc." of Yacmo's TMDs, which can handle a wide range of vibration from small vibrations caused by walking to large shaking caused by wind and earthquakes. Read this to deepen your understanding of TMDs.

How to achieve both design and vibration control
Buildings are required to be not only comfortable but also well designed, but they tend to have long spans, no pillars, and other structures that are prone to vibration. This section introduces measures to reduce vibration while ensuring design quality.

Vibration control for existing buildings "after the fact
Increasingly, vibration problems are occurring later due to layout changes, changes in use, and new installation of equipment and machinery. However, the usual vibration control measures would require large-scale construction work. This section introduces the features and installation examples of Yacmo's vibration control system, which enables "after-the-fact" vibration control measures for existing buildings.

Vibration control for steel stairs
In recent years, more and more commercial facilities, universities, museums, etc. are considering and installing slim steel-frame staircases with high design quality that meet the needs of "blending into the space without feeling oppressive" and "giving a sense of lightness that makes people want to climb up". The slim shape of these staircases makes them prone to swaying and vibration problems. This document summarizes vibration countermeasures for slim steel staircases and introduces methods to reduce vibration without changing the design, along with case studies.

Lineup of Vibration Damping Devices for Vertical Vibration (TMD) Examples
We will introduce the structure and features of each lineup of Yacmo's Vibration Damping Devices (TMD) for Vertical and Vertical applications, as well as case studies of these devices.
